Couple of questions about photographing the floats.

Do you think I should change WB to incandescent

Shutter Priority rather than Aperture

Any other advice

or how about this....

There are litterally 100's of these types of images. Don't know if this type of thing would be useful to anyone but if you think it might be give me a shout and I'll see if I can upload them to Microsoft Skyrider...

Jpeg vs Raw. About the only benefit I can make out is that a Jpeg is a compressed image, Raw on t,other hand is,nt. Most DSLR,s support one or both. Seems straight forward enough. It seems relatively straight forward to convert from one to the other - and dare I say it, back again.

Never had a problem with the battery life until recently. My dilemma being do i buy original canon NB2LH or do i buy a compatible NB2LH. Original canon is around £45, compatible is around £13-£15. I may not be keeping the camera for much longer anyway as im thinking of upgrading.

Hi guys.

I have a 35-70MM Quantaray SLR lens. It has been working flawlessly as long as I have had it. Recently it's started to stick when I try to manually focus the lens. Such as, when rotating from 35mm to 70mm, it will stick just before 70mm and will not go any further. When I try to go back to 30mm, it stops just before 30mm. It takes a few more slides back and fourth to get it to go to 30mm/70mm. This is also the case with the secondary focus but it is much more difficult.

I use the Lightroom Plug-in to pass the images to PhotoMatix. That works OK and I get my HDR image which obviously has to be tone-mapped. Tone mapping works fine but when I go to process the image it goes through all the tone-mapping bit telling me it's doing it but then doesn't display the final image. Sometimes it's works though. Version is 3.1.3. It's getting to be quite frustrating to say the least

I have noticed again this topic "over there" has arisen and the target/subject of the responses has made a very good point, why havent they said how to improve what he has attempted. Its all very well pulling something to pieces for its failings but it sure you have to say what ways you can improve the images shot.It all takes time to learn, often on a budget, and then you have to have the right books/teacher/internet links.

You're never too old to learn new tricks. Having now got used to my new camera (s100fs) I decided to try out it's macro features, something I don't use a lot. Found some black felt that my other half uses for craft work and thought you can't get much blacker than black felt.

I set up the compass on the felt, set up a halogen lamp for light and ...

OK Blue Peter fans here’s a handy

gadget you can construct that helps with camera shake at low shutter speeds. It’s a gadget called the ‘ChainPod’. It was probably invented by Mr Chumbley-Warner’s clever cousin in the 1950s. I use one quite a lot in crowded places where a tripod or monopod is rather an encumbrance – or strictly banned!

Hi all,

I,m looking for a really good Template to build a blog. Has anyone got anythoughts where I start. I,ve Googled it, and come up with one Free Template, but not overly impressed, and another that wants an Annual Subscription, very nice, but very pricey since the Pension wont stretch that far. ..

Seriously, I,d be very grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks
