Haven't tried the second link yet Martyn - but the first one is superb - answered a lot of queries I had about Camera Raw - I owe you a drink!! Thanks a million!!

At the moment Martyn, having watched a couple of those videos, I will be trying them out - but only when I have finished processing the photos from Venice (of which there were around 300) - about 50 to go!!

The most basic thing about Camera Raw is if set up properly its editing in 16 bit files which means it is lossless. I do all my editing apart from extra sharpening and noise reduction in Camera Raw and only convert the files mode to 8 bit if i run special filter or have finished processing and intend to change the image to jpeg for end use.
